About us
Built in a clinic,
not in a meeting room
Anotera is written by and for the clinic that uses it every day. It is not a story, it is a way of working.
Background
Why it exists
Anotera came about because Psykologerne Azour & Secher in Frederiksberg were paying more than DKK 24,000 a year for systems that each solved part of the work and none of which fitted together. Booking in one place, notes in another, SMS in a third, reporting done by hand on a website.
None of them were bad. The problem was that the clinic’s overview lay spread across five systems, and that it cost attention every single day — the attention that should have gone to the client.
The method
The test customer is us
Every feature is built for a real clinic with real clients and real records, and it is not finished until it has been through an ordinary working day. It is a slower way to build, and it removes a particular kind of fault: the kind that only shows up when someone is in a hurry.
It also means that we know the cost of our own choices. When we write that a forgotten key cannot be reset, that is not an abstract security policy — it is something we have to live with ourselves.
The ambition
What it is meant to become
The aim is not to sell software to psychologists. The aim is that a clinician can meet a person with the whole picture in mind — and that being able to do so becomes ordinary, also when there are four sessions left in the day.
That takes more than back office. It takes supervision on every session, patterns across courses of treatment and a profession that makes the same demands of its tools as it makes of itself. That is what we are building towards.
The name
Anotera
ανώτερα — Greek for «the higher», the level above. That is what the system is meant to give: a level above the individual note.
The mark is an A drawn as a dendrite, with a break in the crossbar. The break is the synaptic cleft — the place where a signal does not simply run on, but is transmitted. That is the difference between a wire and a connection.
